KOSHER WINE PAIRINGS TO CREATE DINNER SUCCESS
Pairing wine with food is an area of confusion for many of us. Facing such a daunting array of wine options, and attempting to choose the right one, can be difficult. Couple that with creating a meal to match? No, thank you.
Thankfully, we have taken the guesswork out of wine pairing and have provided the below as inspiration to create your own dinner successes.
KOSHER WINE PAIRINGS
Bartenura Pinot Grigio – This fine wine from Bartenura is made from selected Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the sunny hillsides of the Veneto Region. This is a well-balanced dry wine with fresh pear and honeysuckle and a crisp aftertaste. This Pinot Grigio is excellent with hors d’oeuvres, fish and white meats. Serve it chilled.
For this lovely, light white, we thought it would be fun to pair it with a nice, light risotto with whitefish, lemon and herbs. Enjoy!
Here is the recipe : Lemon Herb and Fish Risotto
Weinstock Cellar Select Cabernet – Weinstock Cellar Select Cabernet is harvested later in the season than usual, and as a result, has incredible richness. It has wonderful aromas of cranberry and blackberry with a balanced oak bouquet and flavor. This wine was aged in American and French barrels for nearly 18 months. Weinstock Cellar Select is the perfect food wine, with its soft feel and nice, rich tannin. This cabernet is excellent with steak, poultry and pasta.
We decided to go a bit bolder with the pairing for the Weinstock Cellar Select Cabernet. This recipe for Gail Simmons’ Horseradish Brisket will tantalize your senses, and will be that much better with organic corn-fed Glatt brisket.
Ramon Cardova Rioja – Grown in Spain’s top wine region, Rioja, from old vines surrounding the town of Haro, La Rioja. This medium-bodied Tempranillo has a nose of berries and cherries with a hint of oak smoke. The tannins give it a moderate finish that is not too big. Ramon Cardova is ideal with red meat, fish and a variety of cheeses.
We are going to pair the Ramon Cardova with Lamb Tagine with Pomegranate. The flavors, aromas and textures will dance together, creating an ethereal experience. Don’t forget the Pom pomegranates!
